About us

History

During 1970 the Sasolburg Baptist Church reacted to the growing need for pre-primary schools in Sasolburg. As a result, Ladybird Pre-primary School was built on the Church’s premises. The elected Governing Body then made application at the Free State Department of Education for the school to be registered according to the Departmental requirements, which became a reality during 1971.

Registration of School

Our school is registered with both the Free State Department of Education and the Department of Social Development Free State Province.

Finances

Ladybird Pre-primary School is a private school, registered as a Non-profit Organisation and relies solely on school fees. All income generated, is re-invested into the application and continuous upgrading of the Curriculum and into maintaining our beautiful school and playground. Fees are payable in advance for ten months from end of January for February till end of October for November. A compulsory fee for enrolment for the next year is payable at the end of November of each year. The financial accounts are maintained by the Principal, the school Secretary and the Governing Body Treasurer and are audited annually.

Security

Access to the school is controlled from the office by CCTV camera, intercom and locked entrance. The property is surrounded by razor wire and is protected by an armed response company.

To teach our children respect as well as empathy with all life forms is very important for us. We encourage our children to treat their pets with love and compassion as we firmly believe that this will lay the foundation for healthy future relationships.
